This is the first realistic sketch that I have attempted since I was a kid. I used to draw animals all the time especially birds. However, more recently I've been too obsessed with the manga style and decided to practice some realism in my drawings. Since drawing birds was a fun past-time I decided to make another attempt at it and see how it went.
This is excellent I must say! The shading is nice, the pencil tone is pleasantly dark and soft, the pose is perfect. I'm not really an expert on animal anatomy or drawing it, but if you wanted to go even further with your realism, try upping the level of shading, so there is no white of the page left on the bird, and all its form comes from the shading rather than an outline.
Otherwise I think this is superb, better than any of my bird drawings thats for sure.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
